Tropical Smoothie Café is a Big Hit at Bluhawk

Tropical Smoothie Café is a Big Hit at Bluhawk

There’s a lot going on at Bluhawk, the new mixed-use development that’s in mid-construction in Overland Park. With a planned sports park and immersive outlet retail, and quite a few places already open for business, there’s a sense of excitement in the air. Nick Patel, whose Tropical Smoothie franchise recently added a store here, offers a perspective on what it’s like to open during this burgeoning phase.

Why Overland Park for Tropical Smoothie

Before choosing Bluhawk, Nick consulted with his cousin, who currently has Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations in Oklahoma City. “We were pursuing locations with healthier lifestyles and corporate jobs. Which is why we had a lot of Tropical Smoothies in Little Rock. So, we ended up signing Tropical Smoothie in Overland Park for these same reasons and because we wanted to be closer to the family.”

Swamped from Day One

Nick reported that the response to Tropical Smoothie Café has been outstanding. “We’re swamped and still going,” he said. Many customers who have been awaiting a healthier option in South Overland Park have been coming in regularly. They also really enjoy the easy in and out of the drive-thru.

A Real Community

Nick says that he really loves being one of the first tenants at Bluhawk. He’s very excited about all that will be coming in the future, especially the sports park and other retail stores. He “enjoys being part of a growing community. Everyone is happy to be in South Overland Park. Everything is taking off. And they’re really happy. This is a good community with lots of good schools, lots of good people. People love the one-stop shop. And with everything coming, for families and sports teams it’s going be one stop for everything all in one place.”

All Walks of Life

Nick says that his customers at Bluhawk come from all walks of life. “We get a lot of varieties of people, families with kids, sports teams, baseball teams, soccer teams, work commuters in the mornings and in the evenings, students after school, practices, corporate offices catering customers, too. We’ve seen quite a lot of mixed business.” Nick thinks that Overland Park is the perfect area for businesses and that it’s only going to grow. He’s very excited to see what’s coming next.

So if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by Tropical Smoothie Café in Bluhawk. Nick’s favorite smoothie is the Mocha Madness. “It has coffee, cappuccino, yogurt, and dark chocolate blended into a smoothie for the perfect morning.” Maybe it’s the taste of good things to come.
