Cosentino’s Market Continues to Serve the Kansas City Area

As a grocery store and an essential business, Cosentino’s Market hasn’t stopped serving this community since the pandemic began. The Cosentino Family and their team are working very hard, as usual, and we can’t thank them enough for taking every precaution and following all guidelines as recommended by the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).

To better and more safely serve the elderly and immunocompromised members of our community, they have reserved the 7–8 AM hour for those customers to shop stress-free. Otherwise, Cosentino’s store hours are 6 AM–11 PM.

Three Dog Bakery Will Return to Normal Hours

The team at Three Dog Bakery is excited to see their neighbors starting to reopen shop. And they’ve announced that they’ll be returning to their normal store hours on June 1, 2020.

They have been able to avoid shutting down completely by taking every safety precaution for their staff’s health and leaning into the rise of BOPIS, or “buy online, pickup in store.” It’s not a new practice, but it’s easy to see why consumers have been using it a lot lately. This is one of the trends that could be here to stay after the evolution of retail during the COVID-19 pandemic. If it works for your business model, it can’t hurt to try it out.

Massageluxe Adds Close Contact Safety Procedures Upon Reopening

Salons, spas and massage studios may have some of the strictest health and safety guidelines as businesses reopen because of the nature of their work. MassageLuXe reopened on May 18 in accordance with state guidelines with plans to perform all services, including massages, facials and waxing. However, the health and safety of their clients and employees are of the utmost importance, and they have put specific safety procedures in place:

• All customers must complete a pre-screening form
• Customers will be required to sanitize or wash their hands before receiving any service
• Masks will be required in all common areas and during applicable portions of spa services
• Service providers must wear masks for the duration of their shifts, and estheticians must wear gloves
• Gloves will be available to customers upon request

The Bar Method Offers Virtual Classes and Eyes a June Reopening

Officially placed in phase 1.5 by Governor Kelly’s executive order, The Bar Method may now open as early as June 1. Throughout the pandemic, they have been offering online classes, including a 14-day free trial for anyone looking to break a sweat from the comfort of their own home.

Bluhawk Dental Group Offers Teledentistry & Adds Safety Protocol

The pandemic has accelerated the arrival of telehealth, and Bluhawk Dental Group is using the practice to serve the Overland Park community. Additionally, they are offering appointments with added safety steps for the health of their patients and employees. Potential added steps may include pre-screening, direct-to-room, temperature screening, mouth rinsing and extra sanitizing.

Mathnasium Offers Online Learning and In-Person Instruction Upon Reopening

Mathnasium is now offering face-to-face instruction with custom-built learning plans online. Students can work with live instructors from the comfort of their own home. Starting June 15th, Mathnasium will be reopening their location at Bluhawk so students will have the choice of online or in-center instruction. Rest assured that extensive cleaning and precautionary measures, such as masks and social distancing, will be in place to assure that students receive individualized instruction safely when they reopen.
